Village Framers

Framing has long leaned on the same well-worn cues — muted tones, restrained type, quiet good taste. Village Framers wanted none of it. As a proudly local business, the brief was to trade convention for personality, and give the category a brand that felt as loud and as local as the neighbourhood it served.

I developed the branding and brandmark for Village Framers, pairing a bold, confident serif with a punchy colour system and characterful illustration to set it apart from the industry norm. The identity was extended through signage, print collateral, art direction and a new website, and codified in brand guidelines built to keep the personality consistent as the business grows.
